Derick Schumacher, PE

Mr. Schumacher joined the Cypress Civil ownership team in June of 2014. Prior to working at Cypress Civil, Mr. Schumacher spent 5 years working in the heavy civil construction industry. His varied background in construction is the perfect complement to Cypress Civil’s extensive design experience.

Mr. Schumacher has over 12 years of experience in the civil design, construction, and maintenance industry. His experience includes project management and project engineering roles in several municipal and DOT construction projects. He personally oversaw the construction of eight bridges for the SR-303 highway project in Phoenix, Arizona. Over his career, he has also prepared numerous cost estimates with the largest being over 20 million dollars. Most recently, Mr. Schumacher served as the reliability engineer for over 150 miles of the Central Arizona Project aqueduct. In this role, he used his skills to identify drainage and stability issues, then develop and implement solutions to maintain a high level of reliability for water supply that services central and southern Arizona. His experience in the field has given him a deep understanding and appreciation for constructability, storm water pollution management, and job safety that he now carries into the design and management of new projects.
